KF-Stride Into the Interview

KF-Stride Into the Interview is a 10 lesson program that helps youth prepare for job interviews by helping them recognize their employable strengths. Our research indicates that youth who use KF-Stride show improvements in their job interview skills and employment outcomes. Listen to Dr. Genova describe this innovative program:

The Challenge

An estimated 80% of neurodiverse individuals are unemployed, despite having the skills and ability to work.

A Major Obstacle

A job interview is the first step in “selling oneself” to a future employer. However, because a job interview requires social communication skills, many neurodiverse people find it extremely challenging.

Where Current Programs Fall Short

Many employment training programs rely heavily on role-play, an approach that has shown limited effectiveness in improving employment outcomes. These programs also emphasize correcting individual weaknesses while offering staff little access to standardized, research-informed curricula.

The KF-Stride Approach

KF-Stride Into the Interview focuses on strengths, helping individuals recognize and build the abilities they already have to succeed at work. The program also provides a standardized, research-supported curriculum that gives staff clear tools for instruction.

KF-Stride Into Work

KF-Stride Into Work is an 8 lesson work readiness program that teaches strength-based positive coping skills to help youth regulate their emotions on the job. Our research indicates that youth who use KF-Stride show increased strength usage in their daily lives.

The Challenge

Once employed, neurodivergent youth, such as those on the autism spectrum, can be amazing employees. However, sometimes they can find it challenging to regulate their emotions and keep calm while on the job.

Our Solution

KF-Stride Into Work teaches strength-based coping strategies customized to each student so they can practice throughout the day to keep calm when stressed. Students watch engaging animated web-based videos and practice their skills with simulated scenarios.
